Derrington is a small village situated just to the west of the county town of Stafford

We are about a 15 to 20 minute drive away from Junction 14 of the M6 (if you are travelling from the North) and about a 15 to 20 minute drive away from Junction 13 of the M6 (if you are travelling from the South).

We are about a 10 minute drive / taxi ride from Stafford town centre and Stafford train station

NB: Sat Nav will tend to get you to the village and not to our property – There are two streets called ‘Mount Pleasant’ in the village and often when relying on Sat Nav people will end up in the wrong one – so please see the photos further down the page to ensure you find us as easily as possible!

Directions from Stafford Town Centre

Leave Stafford heading West on the A518 (signposted in the direction of Telford).

Continue on A518 – Travel past Stafford Castle (on your right).

Keep going on A518 – You will soon go under the M6 Motorway.

Then continuing on A518 – Travel up a gradual hill which bends right then left. As the road bends left, turn right onto Derrington Lane – signposted ‘Derrington 1 mile’

As you arrive in Derrington, IGNORE the first right turn into Mount Pleasant. Instead take the second right turn, which is also called Mount Pleasant.

Blue Cross Cottage is the very first driveway on your left.

There are several other routes to get to Derrington depending upon where you are starting your journey, so please do have a look at a road map or look up a route online, because it may be totally unnecessary for you to go through Stafford town centre.

What you can see in the pictures below is the village hall at the junction with Mount Pleasant. To the right of the village hall you can see two driveways. As you take the turn into Mount Pleasant, turn into the first driveway that runs immediately along the right hand side of the village hall. One of the pictures below shows a closer view of the two driveways.

So for clarity, the left one of the two driveways takes you to Blue Cross Cottage (turn into that one!) and the one to the right of that (with a sign ‘Get Ahead Hats’) is for Blue Cross Farm (ignore that one – it belongs to our neighbour!).

NB – Blue Cross Cottage is set back off the road – positioned almost behind Blue Cross Farm. You cannot really see Blue Cross Cottage easily until you have gone down our driveway.
